Meet Silvana Cecotto

As an English-Spanish Translator with a BA in Sworn Translation and an MA in Modern Languages and Literatures, I specialize in delivering tailored, high-quality solutions for a range of legal, academic, medical, religious, business, and cultural contexts. From My Journey to Yours

As a versatile linguist with over two decades of experience, I’ve embraced diverse disciplines (translating, interpreting, editing, and teaching) to bridge communication gaps and empower individuals.

Where It All Began

My passion for language took root in Argentina, teaching ESL to adults at the British Culture Institute. I then pursued a rigorous five-year degree in Translation at Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, followed by an MA in Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I also taught Spanish at the college level.

A Cross-Cultural Perspective

Living, studying, and working in both Argentina and the United States have given me insights that no textbook could provide: cultural sensitivity for nuanced translations, empathy for immigrants and travelers, and expertise in bridging the gap between differing legal, socio-cultural, and educational systems.

Serving Through Language

Experiencing the U.S. healthcare system as an immigrant mother inspired me to step in as a community interpreter. I later worked as a simultaneous interpreter for the SDA Hispanic Church of Lincoln and took on an enriching interpretation mission in Colombia, combining trauma-healing training with bilateral liaison work. Now, I’m excited to have joined an outstanding team as an anti-trafficking translator.

A Passion for Learning & Teaching

In 2013, I embarked on an ambitious bilingual homeschool project, guiding my children’s education until its successful completion in December 2024. Today, as the proud mother of a senior in law and a freshman in global finance, I am ready to refocus entirely on my professional pursuits.
